Mission Races

Just about every weekend the racing folk of BC come out to Mission Raceway. The drags are full of some of the fasted people in the province. Cars and bikes hit over 200 mph and complete the quarter mile in under 7 seconds! There’s nothing like sound of a dragster lighting it up. I have to ask those guys on the Deadliest Catch if they still think they have the most dangerous job. Here are some photos of my trip to the Mission Raceway in BC.

Tyler, these are great! I like the 1st one a lot. That’s a mean perspective!

Hey Tyler I am new to racing however, me and my kid would like to go watch at the Mission Raceway and take some pictures as well. I have a Nikon D300 and a 80-200 f2.8. I was wondering if you can give me some pointers as to what the place is like and where we can go watch and where we can’t…..I like some nice shots, but having a good time with my kid is more important

Hey Glenn,
That setup should be ideal for some great racing photos! The stands are really open and there is nothing between you and the track. There are some high vantage points that are great for shooting, on the stands and also on the ramp going over the track. Be sure to keep your shutter speed high because these guys are FAST!
